The evolution of the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu student has been interesting to watch. As a coach, each crop of students that come through the door is like a new vintage of grapes, to be bred and moulded from beginner to blue belt. With each year of coaching that passes, the process becomes more refined and mistakes or errors of judgement of what and when a student learns something evolves over time. Like selective breeding improves the time taken and quality of the final yield, so too has this effect been visible amongst our white belt grapplers exceeding all expectations over and over again. Interesting to see where we're at in a decade.
